At St John’s Meads, we meet national curriculum requirements through our own tailored approach, utilising our subject specialisms and unique curriculum arrangements. Our overall intent is to provide children with meaningful and memorable opportunities to develop practical and creative skills for their lives, both now and in the future. Knowledge and skills of working with textiles is taught as part of our curriculum for art. Tools and mechanisms form part of our Forest School curriculum. Cooking and Nutrition are taught as discrete projects by class teachers. The disciplinary knowledge of design and evaluation is developed through all the approaches.
