Co-chair of Governors
My working life was in Education and Children’s Services. In a 40 year career I have been a mainstream school teacher, head of a special school, an SEN Manager and rose to Assistant Director of Children’s Services in two London Boroughs. I am passionate about ensuring that the least able, disadvantaged or vulnerable children receive high quality education. Since retiring and moving to Eastbourne I have attended St John’s Church in the Meads. It is a wonderfully uplifting place and I enjoy helping with a number of church activities in the community and keeping the beautiful gardens looking their best. Being appointed Foundation Governor is a tremendous honour and brings my faith and education experience together. I have recently been the Local Authority Governor for another church school and I look forward to bringing what I have learned there to support St John’s. My faith underpins everything I do and I know that God will guide me in how I can work with the school and the Governing Board to help take the school forward.
