Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity.
We aim to provide a high quality music education that engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music and talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.
The teaching of music is very practical and develops each child’s skills and talents in playing instruments individually and as an ensemble. They listen to high quality musical performances and learn how to appraise and explore different musical genres and traditions, celebrating diversity. They learn how to compose their own music individually and collaboratively, using a variety of instruments. There are many opportunities to perform music, be it their own compositions, as an individual instrumentalist or vocalist or as an ensemble performing an arrangement.
Our children enjoy singing as part of daily worship, and performances to parents at key times in the school and Christian calendar.
